The Visualization and Interactive Systems group (VIS) of the Computer
Science Department of the University of Stuttgart offers
full-time research positions
with the
potential of pursueing a Ph.D. in computer science in the following areas:
Interactive flow visualization
Texture-based volume visualization in OpenSceneGraph (BMBF OpenSGPLUS)
New Media and web technologies for teaching computer graphics (BMBF ITO)
Application Service Providing and visualization on Linux clusters (Landesforschungsschwerpunkt ASPIC)
Candiates are expected to have a degree in computer science,
mathematics, physics or engineering which enables them to pursue
research on the level of a Ph.D. student. Furthermore, basic knowledge
and experience in computer graphics, scientific visualization and
software development in C/C++ is required. Candidates should be
determined to perform leading-edge research, publish the results, and
fullfil the project requirements. They should also be willing to take
their share in the teaching load of the group.
